Pointing is the mortar layer that seals the ridge caps to the roof. Old cement pointing goes brittle, cracks and falls away in pieces, and once it’s gone those caps are held on by very little.
We remove the failed pointing, re-bed any caps that have come loose, and repoint with a flexible compound designed to expand and contract along with the roof.
